The CCW Shop Rules

Cape Cod Woodworkers is a member owned and operated organization with a 2 Directors & 3 General member elected governing board.

The board will be responsible for overseeing all shop operational rules & decisions as required. Initial the following rules are in place until the 3 general members are voted upon.

The Board will meet monthly or as needed and a quorum of 3 General members and at least 1 director is present is required for approval of any motions to be put forward or decisions to pass. Once a year on the third Friday in January an election will be held for 4 of the 5 Board member seats, currently the Director is a 2 year position and the Treasurer & Shop Steward are 1 year term.

All current members in good standing may run for a Board seat. If a board member resigns the Director of the board will appoint an interim board member until the next January election.

New members will be approved by 2 of the general board members and 21 Director prior to a new member being allowed to use any tshop power tools


 

  • NO ALCOHOL of any kind allowed in the shop.
  • Public functions the CCW may hold from time to time will be the wxception to this rule.

  • NO WEAPONS of any kind allowed in the workshop.
  • NO DRUGS of an kind.

 

 

Rules to date:

The CCW workshop will be open from 7 am - 7 pm 7 days a week The Workshop will be monitored at all times via a camera system. A Shop steward appointed by the board will be in charge of the shop and all decision made by a shop steward are final until reviewed by the CCW Board If needed.

INSURANCE REQUIRED

$1 Million in General Liability Insurance naming the Cape Cod Woodworkers group must be up to date and on file at all times. This should cost about $20 a month (Check Next Insurance).

If Insurance lapses said member is not be allowed to use any CCW power equipment until policy is enforce again within 1 week.

All personal tools within the workshop must have the member owners name or other visable color marking afixed to them.

All workbench areas must be kept in a orderly and clean (within a reasonable manner) condition. - Shop steward will have final say on this rule. Glue ups are allowed in workbench areas

All members must be tested and qualified prior to using a particular power tool. A Director may over ride this rule at their discretion.

All members using a Public store front operated by the CCW will pay a2.5% commission for any item over $25 sold. Commissions will be deposited into the general New Tools account.

 

Final Rules and regulations for the CCW will be made once the first Board meeting is held.
