Cape Cod Woodworkers (CCW) is a community-based non-profit organization that will provide:

 

1. Educational Workshops: Public workshops designed to teach various woodworking skills and techniques.
2.Scholarships: Financial support for local students pursuing careers in woodworking-related professions.
3. Shared Workshop Space: Low-cost  membership based workshop - providing full access to all group owned tools and equipment and essential woodworking tools.

The CCW is currently in negotiations for aproximently 2,800 Sqf  of space inbetween rte 151 and rte 28 in east Falmouth. We anticipant negotiation will be completed soon. We are seeking feedback from the community for indications of interest in the CCW and its services at this time.


Membership

Members can use the CCW workshop to create, build, fix or refurbish their wood related projects. The CCW is starting small and will grow as its memberships grow. A Board of elected Members will decide the growth path going forward.

The workshop will be set up with mpower workstations ( i.e. - drill press, band-saw, jointer, planer, a glue up areas will be defined along with an enclosed paint room) grouped by typical stage of work needs. Member work benches will be placed in the center with lockable storage bins for personal property.

Tools

The CCW has had over $5,000 worth of tools donated to the workshop for members to use. The plan of the CCW is to purchase both used and new tools on an on-going basis to fit members need and to upgrade current tools as required. currently being considered - 20" wide sander - 54" wide Flattener (CCW may be daydreaming on this one) - Lathe - Scroll saw...

Store

The CCW is also looking for a store location to allow its members to sell their projects to the public.

P Service Listing

The CCW will maintain and advertise a on-line Database the public can use to search for  woodworker services they may want to hire. All Members can list theirs services or skills for hire for free on the Service listing.

Lumber Mill

The CCW also will have an interest in a Mill in Hingham, MA - Turkey Hill. If members can get their logs (up to 25"in diameter & 18' long) up to there they can be cut for free as long as the member agrees to help in Hingham. Members can also purchase lumber at 50% off

Educational workshops

The CCW will hold workshops open to the public on a regular basis teaching various workshop skills.
Members can hold their own workshops and charge a fee.
